A multidisciplinary approach to study brain circuits

The Reward & Aversion Lab, led by Ana João Rodrigues, is located at ICVS/School of Medicine, University of Minho, at Braga, in the north of Portugal.

We are investigating how our brain encodes valence, and how positive and negative information is conveyed into motivated behaviors (reward/approach, aversion/avoid).

We use a multidisciplinary approach including anatomical characterization, molecular profiling, behavioral evaluation, optogenetics, electrophysiology, pharmacology and live imaging with genetically-encoded sensors.

We are currently recruiting. Join our team.
